During the month of September 2012, there were 47 motor vehicle collisions investigated by State Police working out of the Harlan Post in the three counties of Harlan, Bell, and Knox.

(Tremont, Ky.) – On September 19, 2012 at 10:11a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 10 in Harlan responded to Redwing Road in the Tremont community of Harlan County in reference to a male subject shot behind the Pine Flatt Baptist Church.

(Kildav, Ky.) On September 6, 2012 3:33 a.m. Kentucky State Police responded to a call in reference to an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, troopers discovered Bruce M. Penix, age 47 of Kildav, deceased inside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Harlan County Deputy Coroner Jim Rich and was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

During the month of August 2012, there were 34 motor vehicle collisions investigated by State Police working out of the Harlan Post in the three counties of Harlan, Bell, and Knox.

During August of 2012 there was 1 fatality in the Post 10 area which occurred in Harlan County. Statewide fatalities stand at 498 compared to 498 for the same time period in 2011.
