(Grays Knob, Ky.) On Feb. 2, 2012 Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received a call of a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 421.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Jack Clem, 36, of Cawood, was operating a 1990 Dodge Dakota traveling north on U.S. 421. Mr. Clem crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane and struck a 2011 International truck operated by Ronnie Fuson, 25, of Pineville, off the southbound shoulder.

Mr. Clem was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Harlan County Coroner. Mr. Clem’s injuries indicated that he was not wearing a seat belt. He was partially ejected from his vehicle.

No alcohol or drugs are expected.

KSP Trooper Jason Joseph is in charge of the investigation. The Harlan County Rescue Squad, Harlan City Police Department, Harlan City Fire Department and Harlan EMS assisted.
