Laurel County, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sheriff's Detective Kyle Gray is investigating a shooting that occurred off Arthur Ridge Road at the residence of Tony Radford approx. 6 miles north of London on Sunday morning December 17, 2017 at approx. 7:00 A.M..
Apparently, a disagreement occurred between a grandson and his grandfather, and a scuffle between the two occurred where a pistol discharged striking the grandson in the chest causing a fatal injury.
The grandson was identified as Anthony Ryan Thompson age 26 of East Bernstadt pronounced deceased at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
Detective Gray will present his investigation to the next term of the Laurel County Grand Jury.
Assisting at the scene was: Deputy Gary Mehler, Deputy Bryon Lawson, Deputy Brad Mink. Also assisting was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
