KSP Investigates Triple Fatality Collision in Lincoln County



STANFORD, Ky. (January 8, 2018) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just after 12:40 pm today in reference to a triple fatality collision on US-150, approximately 2 miles east of Stanford in Lincoln County.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon was traveling east on US-150 and attempted to pass another vehicle that was also driving east. When the Hyundai pulled into the oncoming lane of traffic, it collided head-on with a 1998 Toyota T-100 pickup.

As a result of the collision the three Hyundai occupants were fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner.

The driver and sole occupant in the Toyota truck was transported to Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Charles Brandenburg. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Crab Orchard Police Department, Lincoln County Fire & Rescue, Lincoln County EMS, and the Lincoln County Coroner.
