Complaint that two male subjects were spray painting private property in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Broughton along with Deputy Brad Mink, and  CSO Sammie Davis took an 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old male juvenile into custody on Thursday morning January 11, 2018 at approximately 9:08 AM.

Deputies were dispatched to a complaint that two male subjects were spray painting private property including an apartment door and a dumpster and that one of the two individuals had thrown a rock through an apartment door causing damage.

A description was given out to the deputies while they were enroute to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene off American Greeting Card Road approximately 10 miles south of London, deputies observed the two suspects who attempted to flee on foot.

Following a short foot chase, the two suspects were taken into custody.  While deputies were at the scene, they also learned that allegedly the two individuals had grabbed the back of a school bus there earlier loading children and were trying to ride skateboards behind the bus.

The two suspects were identified as:

  • Jonathon Sizemore age 18 of Lily charged with criminal mischief – first-degree; fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot; disorderly conduct – first-degree; menacing; resisting arrest; and criminal trespass – first-degree.
  • A 16-year-old male juvenile from Corbin charged with criminal mischief – first-degree; and criminal trespass – first-degree.
  • The adult male was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

    The 16-year-old male juvenile was released to his family through the court designated worker with an assigned court date in juvenile court.
