Suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous

London, KY –On Monday, January 15, 2018 at approximately 2:39 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified by the Whitley County 911 of a stabbing that had taken place at a residence on Jordan Hollow Road in Whitley County.

Upon arrival, KSP Detectives discovered Curtis Lawson, 55, of Siler, KY deceased of an apparent stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

Upon further investigation, Detectives learned that Lawson was stabbed by Jeffery L. Cole, 27, of New York during an altercation that had taken place at Lawson’s residence.

The victim’s body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

No arrest has been made at this time. KSP Troopers are actively searching for Jeffery Cole and are asking anyone with any information or known whereabouts of Cole to contact KSP at 606-878-6622 or 1-800-222-5555. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

KSP Detective Dackery Larkey is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Williamsburg Police Department and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
