Collision Injures One - Knox County

(Flatlick, Ky.) A collision early Monday evening has left a Knox county man in critical condtion. Kentucky State Police Post 10 in Harlan received the call shortly after 5:00 pm.

According to the report, Timothy Owens, age 54, was traveling southbound on US 25E in the Flatlick community of Knox County. Mr. Owens lost control of his 1993 full size Chevrolet truck, struck a guardrail, ejecting its lone occupant, before coming to final rest several yards down the embankment.

Mr. Owens was airlifted from the scene to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

The southbound lanes of US 25E remained closed for nearly an hour as troopers conducted their initial investigation.

The investigation continues by Trooper Joshua Messer.

He was assisted on scene by troopers Jason Partin, Frank Russell, Christopher Pruitt, and George Howard.
