Second pursuit in Laurel County overnight - Arrest made

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested an East Bernstadt resident on Monday night March 2, 2015 at approximately 9:20 P.M.

Arrested was Tara Baldwin age 21 of Orchard Road, East Bernstadt, KY.

The arrest occurred on Ky 490 approximately 5 miles north of London after deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Nissan Altima believed to have a subject in the vehicle that was involved in an earlier dangerous pursuit in Laurel County.

When Deputy Parrott turned around to attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle it sped up, and it took over 2 miles to get the vehicle stopped.

Deputy Parrott assisted by Deputy Charlie Johnson where both deputies set up a moving roadblock to finally get the vehicle stopped.

Deputies detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

Tara Baldwin was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence second offense; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle; possession of marijuana; failure of owner to maintain required insurance first offense; and other traffic offenses.

Also assisting on the investigation was Deputy Brandon Broughton and Detective Jason back.

Tara Baldwin was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
