Intoxicated young girl complaint - Laurel County

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson Shawn Jackson arrested Laura Burton age 24 of Hwy. 1232, Corbin early Sunday morning March 22, 2015 at approximately 1:30 A.M.

The arrest occurred off West. Cumberland Gap Parkway, approximately 9 miles south of London after Deputy Jackson was dispatched to investigate a young girl inside a restaurant in southern Laurel County that appeared to be severely intoxicated.

When Deputy Jackson arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that Laura Burton had allegedly allowed a 14-year-old juvenile female to consume alcoholic beverages – blue raspberry vodka.

In addition, the juvenile girl continued to have access to the vodka and consumed more shots of the alcoholic beverages and became very intoxicated.

Deputy Jackson conducted an investigation on the 14-year-old girl determining that she was under the influence. Laura Burton was also determined to be under the influence.

Laura Burton was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor third-degree and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The 14-year-old female juvenile was cited for alcohol intoxication and was released to her family via social services and the court designated worker.
