KSP Charges Oldham Co. Man With Distribution Of Child Pornography

(LaGrange, Ky.)— On April 30, 2015, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 5 -  Campbellsburg, arrested Matthew W. Browning, 32, on charges related to distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Browning was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. This included images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Browning’s residence on April 30, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Browning is currently charged with five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each count is a Class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.

Browning was lodged in the Oldham County Detention Center.
