Three arrested in Laurel County - Drug and Warrants

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Boroviak arrested three individuals on Thursday morning July 30, 2015 at approximately 11:49 A.M.

The arrests occurred on Court Road, approximately 1 mile south of London after Deputy Boroviak conducted a routine traffic stop on a gray colored Toyota Camry for a traffic violation.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Rikki Walden was operating the vehicle with expired registration plates no proof of insurance and driving without a seatbelt on.

As investigation on the driver continued it was determined that she had numerous outstanding bench warrant's and warrants of arrest. In addition, Deputy Boroviak found this subject in possession of a soda can bottom with white residue on it which was determined to be Roxicet 15 mg along with a used hypodermic needle; also a second hypodermic needle was also discovered.

Rikki Walden age 25 of Dollie Miller Road, East Bernstadt was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; failure to wear seatbelts; no registration plates; license to be in possession; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; and other traffic violations.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card – this case was investigated by Sheriff's Detective Kevin Berry and the warrant alleges that this subject used a stolen debit card at Walmart store in London making two separate purchases total value over $118; this subject was identified on a video provided by Walmart's loss prevention team showing this subject using the stolen debit card.

Also this subject was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging theft by unlawful taking – allegedly this subject went to Walmart and selected a cell phone charger valued at $19.96, opened the package and placed the charger in her back pocket and left the store without paying for it.

Also this subject was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting – this case was investigated by Sheriff's Detective Kevin Berry and the warrant alleges that this subject along with two other female subjects entered No Clouds Allowed tanning salon and took several items from the business – two of the suspects kept the store clerk busy while the third individual concealed several items from the shelves inside her pants.

Deputy Rick Cloyd assisted on the investigation and obtained video which clearly shows the three suspects committing the theft – items stolen totaled $261.35.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley County warrant of arrest charging fraudulent use of a credit card – allegedly this subject used a credit card that was not hers at Fast Trax two different times charging under $500.

Also arrested was an occupant in the vehicle identified as: Chelsea Roark age 23 Of Esther Ln., London charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging theft by unlawful taking on a case investigated by Detective Kevin Berry and Deputy Rick Cloyd where this subject along with two other female subjects entered No Clouds Allowed tanning salon and took several items from the business – two of the suspects kept the store clerk busy while the third individual concealed several items from the shelves inside her pants.

A third person was also arrested and is identified as: Brad Hacker age 38 of Maple Grove School Rd., London charged with possession of a controlled substance and wanton endangerment – first-degree – victim is police officer – this subject was a passenger in the vehicle – this subject told Deputy Boroviak during the investigation that he did not have any items in his pocket that would poke or stick or stab this officer – during the investigation Deputy Boroviak found three hypodermic needles in this subject's left front pocket.

All three subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
