Unlawful Transaction With a Minor arrest - Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested Joshua Morris age 26 of Hyden Road, Williamsburg early Friday morning November 27, 2015 at approximately 3:55 AM.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 10 miles south of London after Deputy Jackson was dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was passed out at the entrance to a restaurant and a female was passed out in a car there.

When Deputy Jackson arrived at the scene, he located this male subject sitting beside the front entrance slumped over. Apparently customers coming into the business had to step around this subject to enter the business.

Deputy Jackson conducted an investigation and determined that this subject was under the influence. Deputy Jackson also located the female subject passed out in a vehicle nearby. Deputy Jackson learned that the female subject was an underage 17-year-old. It was determined that the 17-year-old had consumed alcoholic beverages and Klonopin.

Joshua Morris was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances, disorderly conduct – second-degree and unlawful transaction with a minor – third-degree. This subject allegedly allowed the female juvenile to consume alcohol and a schedule 4 narcotic.

The 17-year-old female juvenile was released to her mother.
