(Nicholasville, KY) — The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post in investigating three house fires in Garrard and Lincoln County that appear to be connected and are believed to be the result of arson.
KSP Post 7 was first contacted on Friday, April 29, 2016, after the Garrard County Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 2683 Pollys Bend Road, north of Lancaster in Garrard County. The investigation indicates that the residence was burglarized and set on fire just after 11:30 am, damaging a portion of the house. While investigating the first fire, KSP was called after the Jessamine County Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 3096 High Bridge Road, south of Wilmore in Jessamine County. The investigation again indicates that the residence was also burglarized before being set on fire, just after 2:00 pm.
On Monday, May 2, KSP was called and notified at approximately 11:00 am, of another residential fire at 1701 Woods Road, just west of Nicholasville in Jessamine County. The initial investigation indicates that much like the first two fires, the residence was burglarized prior to catching on fire, and is severely damaged.
The Kentucky State Police is asking if anyone has seen anything suspicious that could be related to the fires, or may have noticed a silver or gray Chevrolet Cavalier or Cobalt in the area, to contact KSP Post 7 at 859-623-2404 or the Arson Task Force at 1-800-27ARSON (1-800-272-7766). The Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for starting any of the fires.
