Corrected press release: Serious Injury Traffic Crash on KY 229

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Kyle Gray along with Sgt. Robbie Grimes investigated a two vehicle serious injury traffic crash which occurred on Ky 229, approximately 4 miles south of London on Wednesday night June 22, 2016 at approximately 6:37 PM.

The investigating deputies report that apparently a 1988 Chevrolet pickup was traveling southbound on Highway 229 when the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder, then swerved back onto the roadway crossing the center line and struck a northbound 1999 Ford Crown Victoria car head on.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was identified as: Roger Clem age 37 of Thomas Robbins Ln., Cawood, KY – serious injuries – airlifted to UK Hospital Lexington for treatment of injuries. The passenger in the Chevrolet pickup was identified as: Walter Bruce age 49 Sugar Camp Rd., Cawood, KY-- no injuries reported.

The driver of Crown Victoria car was identified as: Jesse Sea age 27 Of Barbourville Rd., London – injured, and transported by Ambulance Inc. Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of possible injuries.

Assisting at the crash site was: Campground Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, and Air Evac Helicopter.
