Manchester, KY - Clay County Coroner, Danny Finley, reports that his office was dispatched to Highway 873, (Plywood Factory Road), one half mile south of the Hal Rogers Parkway, at 10:05 A.M. Saturday morning September 24, 2016.
Upon arrival Finley was advised by Sheriff Deputy Mike Cagle, that 68 year old Sharon K. Roark, Laurel Heights, was discovered in an SUV parked on the right shoulder of the roadway.
Family members had discovered an apparent suicide note earlier that morning and had notified authorities. Another note was discovered inside the vehicle.
The Coroner's Office has stated that "Mrs. Roark died from a single, self-inflicted, handgun wound to the abdomen".
Responding to the scene were Sheriff Deputy Mike Cagle, Clay County EMS, Clay County Coroner, Danny Finley and Fish and Wildlife Resources Officer Chris Meadows.
