Sheriff John Pickard Reports that on 08-22-2012 Deputies Adam Townsley and Keith Liford responded to Garland Cemetary Rd. in Gray in reference to a fight.

Upon Deputies arrival they found Mr. John Garland who had been assaulted by a male subject which had fled the scene.

Mr. Garland had to be air lifted out to the hospital and had to under-go surgery this week for injuries resulting from the assault.

After further investigation deputies located Hilt Bryant aka Amon Garland and charged him with assault 4th degree and lodged him in the Knox County Detention Center.

Due to the extent of injuries Mr John Garland received Deputy Townsley with be amending the charges to assault 1st degree.
