Baby girl found dead / Laurel County

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Johnson responded to a 911 complaint that a 10 week old infant baby girl had been found dead at a residence, 2 miles west of London on Somerset Road on Monday night ( 8-27-2012) at 10 P.M.
When Sgt. Johnson and Deputy Kirk Mays arrived at the scene, they tried to resuscitate the child, but were unable to.
Deputies conducted an investigation and determined that the baby had been left with the mother’s boyfriend’s brother early on Saturday, 8-25-2012 .
The mother and her boyfriend told the boyfriend’s brother that her other child had been critically hurt in a motorcycle accident and was in the hospital in Tennessee and they needed him to watch the baby.
It was determined that the child had not been hurt and that the mother and boyfriend had in fact been partying for 2 days.
The boyfriend’s brother had no experience in caring for a newborn infant baby.
Deputies located the mother and her boyfriend later in the night driving in the vicintity.
The boyfriend, Johnathon L. Haynes age 32 of Somerset Road, London (who was driving) was arrested and charged with DUI and several other traffic offenses.
Also taken into custody was the passenger (and mother of the baby who was found dead), and is identified as: Rachel E. Kilburn age 29 of Dot Dot Lane, Cutshin, KY.
Following investigation she was charged with: Abandonment of a Minor (Class d Felony) and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
The boyfriend was lodged also.
Autopsy is being conducted in Frankfort to determine cause of death.
