(Hazard, Ky.) On February 13, 2012 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a 911 call that an armed robbery had occurred at the Isom Double Kwik in the Isom community of Letcher County.

(Hazard, Ky.) On December 28, 2011 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a 911 call of an Attempted Robbery at Happy Hollow Road in the Jenkins community of Letcher County. This area is very close to the Pike and Letcher County line.

Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard has began an investigation into two burglaries and thefts which have occurred at the Bluegrass Materials-Cumberland Rock Quarry in the Gordon community of Letcher County, which is near the Harlan and Letcher County line.

Access to potable water will soon be available to 181 households in Letcher County.
