(LONDON, KY.) – On Friday, June 22, 2012 at approximately 3:06 am the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London received a report of shooting incident at a residence on Osborne Creek Road in McCreary County.

Upon arrival Trooper Craig Reed made contact with Norman Waters, 71, of Pine Knot. Waters advised he had been shot by Crystal Redden, 35, of Strunk and that he had left the scene to wait for medical assistance at a local store.

Upon further investigation it was determined that Waters had unlawfully entered the residence of Crystal Redden and assaulted Redden and Brian Spradlin, 44, of Revlo. Waters then went outside to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun. Upon re-entering the residence Waters assaulted two females and then entered a room in where Redden and Spradlin were located. Redden, who had armed herself, fired one shot striking Waters in the torso.

Waters was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment, his condition is unknown at this time.

**UPDATE** On Sunday, June 24, 2012 Trooper Craig Reed and McCreary County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Horn served a warrant of arrest on Norman Waters, 71, of Pine Knot.

Waters was charged with One (1) Count of Burglary 1st, Three (3) Counts of Assault 2nd, One (1) Count of Assault 4th and One (1) Count of Wanton Endangerment 1st in connection with the incident on June 22, 2012.

Waters was lodged in the McCreary County Jail.
