Drugs Recovered at Five Clay County Homes
Search warrants were executed at five Clay County homes last week with each resulting in drug seizures.
Detectives with Operation UNITE were assisted by law enforcement officers from the Manchester Police Department and Clay County Sheriff's Office in executing the warrants on Wednesday, August 17.
"All of the warrants were the result of a month-long investigation that involved undercover buys and tips received during the investigation," said Joel Cunigan, Cumberland Task Force supervisor for UNITE.
The first search took place on House Branch Road about 1 p.m. There they recovered 2 Hydrocodone pills, 15.25 dose units of Xanax pills, a marijuana cigarette and cash.
At 2:34 p.m. the team searched a home on Greasy Road and recovered 7.7 grams of marijuana and half of a Valium tablet.
About one hour later, at a residence on Coal Hollow Road, police found 35.5 grams of marijuana, 2 dose units of Ambian and cash.
Around 5 p.m. police executed a search warrant on Ephram Creek Road where they recovered 16.5 units of Loratabs, 18 Percocet pills, 18 Xanax pills, 55 Klonopin tablets and cash. Cunigan said several people came to the residence and attempted to illegally purchase drugs while officers were there.
The final search came at 11:40 p.m. on Beech Creek Road, where officers confiscated a small quantity of marijuana.
Cunnigan said all five cases will be presented to a Clay County Grand Jury for possible indictments.
