Teens go Christmas Shopping sponsored by Laurel County Sheriff John Root

London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel County Sheriff's  Deputies joined with COMPASS (a residential treatment program for juveniles-based in London) to allow their residents to shop with a deputy for Christmas.

The residents were able to select clothing, and other items for themselves, and spend time with a deputy. The project was funded by Sheriff John Root personally, and while shopping, several local citizens made donations to help. Six teens participated.

COMPASS Adolescent Residential Treatment is a 90-120 day residential program designed to provide a comprehensive array of quality substance abuse and co-occurring services to adolescent males age 12-18. COMPASS is a part of Cumberland River Behavioral Health, INC. For more information about COMPASS, please call 606-877-9999.

Sheriff John Root stated he received a blessing to be able to help these young teens to enjoy the holiday season, and considered it a privilege for his deputies to participate in this event.
