Mandatory motor vehicle insurance notices to begin statewide in June

Uninsured motorists risk cancellation of registrations

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 17, 2012) – As mandated by the Kentucky Legislature, uninsured motorists across the Commonwealth will begin receiving notices in June that registrations for their personal vehicles will be canceled if they do not obtain required insurance or show proof of existing insurance.

Kentucky Among States to Reach $45 Million Settlement with Skechers over Deceptive Advertising

Potential refunds for eligible consumers vary from $20 to $80 per pair of shoes

Attorney General Jack Conway has announced that Kentucky has joined 43 other states, the District of Columbia and the Federal Trade Commission in reaching a $45 million settlement with Skechers USA, Inc. over allegations of deceptive advertising involving the company's rocker-bottom shoe products. Under the settlements, up to $40 million is being allocated for consumer refund money to be paid back to consumers who purchased the shoes. An additional $5 million will be paid to the states.

Lexington Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Attorney General Jack Conway has announced the arrest of a Lexington, Ky. man for possession of child pornography. Investigators from the Attorney General's Cybercrimes Unit, with assistance from Lexington Metro Police, arrested 41-year-old Eliazar Rincon on Wednesday after executing a search warrant at his Lexington home.

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) The Kentucky State Police Driver Testing Branch has posted a 3 minute and 13 second video demonstrating Kentucky’s new motorcycle operator’s license skill test on YouTube.
