Five Die On Kentucky Roadways

(FRANKFORT, KY) – Preliminary statistics* indicate that five people died in five separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012. 

Kentucky State Police is looking for fifth grade artists to compete in the National Missing Children’s Day poster contest

(Frankfort, KY.) - Kentucky State Police is looking for fifth grade artists to compete in the National Missing Children’s Day poster contest sponsored by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC.  KSP will select a nominee from Kentucky and forward it to DOJ, where one poster from all state nominated entries will be selected as a winner.  The artist of the national winning poster will win a free trip to Washington, D.C and participate in the National Missing Children’s Day Ceremony where they will receive an award and a U.S. Savings Bond.

Health Grants Awarded to 41 High Schools in Kentucky

Money Goes to Programs that Promote Nutrition, Physical Activity, Tobacco Prevention

The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) and its partners have selected 41 high schools to receive grants to develop or improve the nutritional, physical activity or tobacco prevention policies at their schools. The $500 grants are part of the Students Taking Charge program offered by Kentucky Action for Healthy Kids (KYAFHK).
