LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Dylan Messer arrested Charles D. Blanton age 52 of London on Monday afternoon September 20, 2021 at approximately 3:50 PM.
The arrest occurred off Pine Grove School Road approximately 4 miles South of London after deputies encountered this individual while assisting social services on a referral complaint.
This subject misidentified himself several times to deputies there.
It was learned through investigation who this individual actually was and it was determined that this subject had three outstanding warrants.
Charles Blanton was charged with:
- Giving officer false identifying information
In addition this subject was charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation warrant charging:
1. Absconding parole supervision
2. Failure to report arrest, citation or summons to parole board;
3. Failure to pay court ordered child support as directed
4. Failure to report to parole officer as directed
5. Failure to make restitution as directed
6. Failure to follow special instructions of parole officer regarding a conviction in Fayette County, Laurel County and Scott County on charges of:
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine – first offense
- Flagrant nonsupport
- Assault third-degree – social services worker victim
- Theft by unlawful taking – $500 or more but under $10,000
- Escape – second-degree
In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging:
- Assault – 4th degree
- Terroristic threatening – third-degree
- Wanton endangerment – first-degree
Also this individual was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of theft of services
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
