Drug Activity complaint / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Bryon Lawson along with Detective Chris Edwards arrested 2 individuals off Sally’s Branch Road, on Monday morning March 25, 2019 at approximately 11:55 AM.

The arrests occurred after the Sheriff’s office traveled to a residence there regarding a drug activity complaint.

Upon arrival at the scene a male subject fled on foot and was located hiding under a bush nearby and was found in possession of Methamphetamine.

In addition, a female subject found in the driver seat of a tan colored Jeep Cherokee at the residence was determined to be under the influence and found in possession of Methamphetamine and a needle apparently recently used.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee identified as Layla Marie Fehr age 24 of Sally’s Branch Road, London charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia. This individual admitted using methamphetamine prior to operating the vehicle. This individual was also found in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine and a needle that appeared to have been recently used.
  • Dustin Morgan age 22 of Sally’s Branch Road, London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

    Assisting on the investigation and arrests were: Major Chuck Johnson, Detective James Sizemore, Detective Daniel Grigsby, Deputy Jake Miller and his K-9 “ Gotcha”, Deputy Jamie Etherton.
