KSP Death Investigation / Human Remains Found in Lincoln County Identified


MCKINNEY, Ky. (March 29, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 1:00 pm yesterday afternoon in reference to possible human remains that were located under the Norfolk Southern Bridge off of Tunnel Creek Road in a rural area of Lincoln County.

KSP Post 7 investigators responded to the scene, and located the remains of a man that had severely decomposed. The remains were removed by the Lincoln County Coroner, and taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

As a result of the initial investigation, the deceased has been identified as Patrick W. Cook, 57 years old of Waynesburg, KY, who was reported as missing in December to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The ongoing death investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Frank Thornberry.
