Three Arrested at Traffic Stop in Barbourville

Barbourville, Ky. - On Sunday. March 30, 2019 at approximately 5:40 am Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones observed a vehicle swerving across the centerline while traveling south on US-25E in Barbourville.

After conducting a traffic stop, Deputy Jones arrested the driver and two passengers after finding several small plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine, Oxycontin, Suboxone strips, small amount of marijuana, a syringe, set of scales and a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.

Arrested was:

The driver, Thomas E Brunner age 49 of Heidrick, KY was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana-less than 8 ounces, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Trafficking in Legend Drug and Carless Driving.

Passenger Glenn Lee Crawford age 37 of Hinkle, KY was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana-less than 8 ounces, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Trafficking in Legend Drug.

Passenger James Robert Smith age 27 of Frakes, KY was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana-less than 8 ounces, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Trafficking in Legend Drug. James Smith was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for a Drug Court Violation.

Thomas Brunner, Glenn Lee Crawford and James Smith were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
