Driver identified in Serious Injury Tractor-Trailer crash / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Josh Scott along with Sgt. John Inman are investigating a single vehicle serious injury traffic crash which occurred on KY 1223 (Dorthae Road) approximately 10 miles South of London early Wednesday morning April 3, 2019 at approximately 1:21 AM.

The investigating deputies report that apparently a tractor trailer flatbed loaded with wood overturned off the wooden bridge that crosses over CSX railroad and fell onto the railroad tracks blocking train traffic.

Deputies had to notify CSX to halt all traffic while the tractor-trailer was removed. A guard rail and the wooden bridge received significant damage.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as:

Daniel Lynch age 51 of Clinton Township, Michigan – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London and was expected to be transferred to UK Med Center for further treatment of injuries.

Assisting at the scene was Lily Volunteer Fire Department, and London Laurel Rescue Squad.
