Police nab man wanted in Clay County on 3 Warrants of Arrest / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Josh Morgan along with Deputy Josh Scott, Sgt. John Inman, Deputy Gary Mehler and his K-9 “ Edge” arrested a subject wanted on multiple Warrants of Arrest early Thursday morning April 4, 2019 at approximately 1:13 AM.

Arrested was:

Dennis Burkart age 32 of London, Ky.

The arrest occurred off Philpot Road, approximately 4 miles South of London after this subject was charged on a Clay County warrant of arrest charging theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging burglary – first-degree; theft by unlawful taking – firearm; burglary – third-degree; theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000; persistent felony offender II.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on two counts of theft by deception cold checks under $10,000.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000; two counts of shock probation denied in felony convictions.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
