Complaints lead to 4 arrests on Curry Road / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root along with Detective Bryon Lawson, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Capt. Kevin Berry, Lieut. Robbie Grimes, Sgt. Greg Poynter, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Deputy Jake Miller and his K-9 “Gotcha”, and Deputy Jamie Etherton arrested four individuals off Curry Road, approximately 8 miles east of London on Tuesday afternoon April 9, 2019 at approximately 3:25 PM.

The arrests occurred off Curry Road while the Sheriff’s office was conducting a drug investigation following complaints in that area, and also were looking for a female subject on a felony warrant. Deputies located suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, a reported stolen handgun, a glass pipe, needles, and a subject wanted on a parole violation warrant. Those individuals arrested were identified as:

  • Susie Scalf age 44 of Curry Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; receiving stolen property – firearm.
  • Brian Robinson age 43 of Farris Jones Rd., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, the subject was charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation warrant charging absconding parole supervision; failure to complete halfway house program regarding a conviction in Laurel Circuit Court on charges of flagrant nonsupport. Also the subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding child support.
  • Tanner Scalf age 25 of Curry Rd., London charged with receiving stolen property – firearm.
  • Chad Curry age 44 of Curry Rd., London charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

    • All four individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
