Deputy ends foot pursuit by deploying Taser / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: On April 11, 2019 at approximately 11:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Cody Blackwell along with Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones arrested 3 individuals on South Highway 421.

Arrested was:

George Robinson, 45 of Collins Gibson Road, Anthony Hibbard, 31 of Aarrowhead Court and David Shoemake, 33 of Paces Creek Road.

The arrests occurred on South Highway 421 when Deputies received a complaint that 3 subjects was at the Car Wash on Garrard stealing copper wires from the business.

Deputies located the 3 subjects walking south toward Manchester.

When Deputy Blackwell got out to question the subjects because they matched the description also carrying a back pack.

When George Robinson seen Deputy Blackwell he fled on foot. During the foot pursuit the subject refused to comply with the commands that was given to him. Deputy Blackwell deployed his taser to end the foot pursuit and the subject was arrested without further incident.

George Robinson was charged with:

  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court
  • TBUT or DISP All Others U/$500
  • Criminal Mischief, 2nd Degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Wanton Endangerment- 2nd Degree- Police Officer
  • Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
  • Obstructing Governmental Operations
  • Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (on Foot)
  • Anthony Hibbard was charged with:

  • TBUT or DISP All Others U/$500
  • Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • David Shoemake was charged with:

  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court
  • TBUT or DISP All Others U/$500
  • Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
