IRVINE, Ky. (June 6, 2019) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Estill County on Spout Springs Rd. (KY-82) near Trammell Lane, north of Irvine just before 11:50 AM Wednesday.
The initial investigation indicates that Hager K. Rice, 56 years old of Richmond, was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla west on Spout Springs Road. Rice lost control of his vehicle and crossed the centerline, colliding head-on with a 2016 Ford Fusion operated by Haley Puckett, 20 years old of Irvine.
As a result of the collision, Hager Rice sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Estill County Coroner.
Haley Puckett and her three passengers were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Toney Allen.
