Suspected Psychedelic Mushrooms, Multiple other Drugs & Cash Seized by Deputies in Southeast Kentucky

K9 Bolt Contraband suspects 1 13 21

HYDEN, KY (January 14, 2021) - The Leslie County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that: On January 13, 2021 Chief Deputy Jeremy Vega along with K-9 Deputy Travis Davis, gained information about a subject with a warrant in the Wooton community of Leslie County.

Chief Deputy Vega, K-9 Deputy Davis, Deputy Elvin Hendrix & Deputy Shane Wilson went to the location in an attempt to locate the subject.

Upon arrival, a male emerged from the rear of the residence and Deputy Hendrix observed a quantity of suspected Marijuana along with a handgun in plain view through the door opening.

A male later identified as Christopher France age 34 of Cutshin, KY slammed the door and attempted to destroy evidence. Deputies were able to safely remove France from the residence.

A search warrant was granted and deputies executed the warrant with the assistance of K9 Bolt.

During the search, Deputies and Bolt found:

In addition, the search revealed that France had attempted to flush illegal substances, but was unsuccessful.

Christopher France was charged with:

James Perkins age 35 from Irvine, Kentucky was located and served with the two active warrants from Madison County

A female identified as Radeana France was at the residence and found in possession of:

All three individuals were lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
