LONDON, KY (January 14, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Major Chuck Johnson, Detective Allen Turner, Deputy Travis Napier, and Deputy Brian France arrested two individuals at a residence off Willow Branch Road, approximately 3 miles north of London on Thursday afternoon January 13, 2022 at approximately 3:00 PM.
The arrests occurred after deputies developed information on the whereabouts of a subject wanted on numerous outstanding warrants. When deputies pulled into the driveway, they located the male suspect outside in front of the residence.
Another male subject fled around the to the back of the residence and a female subject located on the back porch fled into the residence.
Deputies pursued the female subject into the residence and found her along with suspected heroin, hypodermic needles two of which were loaded.
It was determined that the female subject was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The male subject being sought on warrants was found with suspected Heroin possibly containing Fentanyl.
Two subjects were arrested and are identified as:
The individual being sought on numerous outstanding warrants - Shawn Curt Mulrenin age 47 of Willow Branch Rd., East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Heroin
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
In addition, this subject was charged on a Boyle Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging:
- Bail jumping – first-degree
Also, the subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on numerous traffic and registration violations
This subject was also charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging:
- Theft by unlawful taking $1000 or more but under $10,000
The subject was also charged on a Boyle Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court on charges of contempt of court
Robyn Danielle Jones age 32 of Willow Branch Rd., East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Driving on a DUI suspended license
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
