John Gilbert McWhorter, 66, of Manchester, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 3rd, at his home.
John was born in Manchester, KY on February 4, 1953, a son of the late Dellie (Sawyers) and Clyde McWhorter.
John is survived by his wife, Maggie Madden McWhorter; his son,Nicholas Ray McWhorter of Shepherd Town; four step daughters: Lily Madden Anderson and husband Mark of Tyner, Jewell Bowles and husband Marvin of Annville, Frances Rose of McKee, and Ellen Madden of Jacksonville, NC.
John is also survived by two sisters: Doris Jean Hill Looper and husband Arthur and Emma McWhorter; two brothers: Jess McWhorter and wife Joan and Luther McWhorter and wife Violet; and by 10 step grandchildren
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Lou Moore, Bessie Jane Bowman and Regina Kaye Day.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 6th at the Wilson Cemetery on Burning Springs.
