Nancy L. Smith, 81, of Manchester, KY, passed away Sunday, June 9th, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.
Nancy was born in Goose Rock, KY on October 12, 1937, a daughter of the late Oma (Wagers) and Edward Smallwood. She worked as a librarian for more than 25 years for the Clay County Public Library.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Preston S. Smith.
She is survived by her son and daughter: Scott Smith and Jennie Hooker, both of Manchester.
She is also survived by her sister, Jewel Hoskins of Manchester; her three grandchildren: Cindy Lipps and husband Rodney of Manchester, Camille Robidoux and husband Matt of London, and Michael Smith of Hyden; and three great grandchildren: Ansley Lipps, John David Lipps and Piper Cay Robidoux.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by the following brothers: C.B. Smallwood, Eugene Smallwood, Cecil Smallwood, Raleigh Smallwood and Alva Smallwood.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 14th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Tess Lipps and Shirley Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 13th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY.
