Flags to Be Lowered to Half-Staff on Sunday in Honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2019) – In accordance with the proclamation by President Donald J. Trump and Public Law 107-51, both American and state flags at public office buildings will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

USDA to Distribute Oral Rabies Vaccine for Raccoons in Eastern Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 2, 2019) - As part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Rabies Management Program, oral rabies vaccine (ORV) baits for raccoons have been distributed in Virginia through aerial drops and by hand since 2002 in partnership with state and local public health agencies and others.
