Eighteen Arrests during “Operation Fall Break” in Laurel County, Kentucky with Charges ranging from Drug Trafficking & Possession to Warrants and FTA Offenses

LONDON, KY (October 21, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root along with Sheriff's detectives, deputies, and K-9 teams arrested 18 individuals recently following the ongoing "War on Drugs" that Sheriff Root pledged that his office would continually conduct. While conducting drug investigations and executing indictment warrants and other warrants during “Operation Fall Break”, there were a total of 18 persons arrested with charges ranging from Trafficking Meth, possession of Meth, and indictment warrants for possession of Heroin, probation violation, complaint warrants and numerous FTA arrests.

INEZ, KY -- U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05) secured the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of the family of the late Col. Martin Himler from Martin County, who served the U.S. military during World War II as a colonel in the Office of Strategical Services (OSS), the precursor to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The Congressional Gold Medal was commissioned for members of the OSS in recognition of their valiant efforts to bring Hungarian Nazi war criminals to justice during World War II.
