10 Individuals Arrested at Numerous Locations as “War on Drugs” Continues in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root Along with Major Chuck Johnson, Capt. Robbie Grimes, Lieut. Chris Edwards along with Detective's and Deputies arrested 10 individuals at numerous locations throughout Laurel County on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

The arrests occurred after the Laurel County Sheriff's office and its detectives received numerous complaints of possible drug activity at these locations.

Sheriff's Office investigators traveled to the suspect locations and discovered:

  • Methamphetamine
  • Digital scales
  • Pipes containing Meth residue
  • Hypodermic needles
  • US currency
  • Individuals wanted on outstanding drug warrants and other warrants

Contraband Seized

In one location a suspect assaulted one of the Sheriff's deputies by striking him in the face. This individual was taken into custody without incident.

Those arrested were identified as:

Found off Slate lick Road:

Jessica Brock age 32 of Keller Road, London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Giving officer false identifying information

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear for drug court on charges of possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

Christopher Elkins age 38 of Bethel Road, East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Genia N. Hardin age 32 of Slate Lick Road, London charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

Found off Pittsburg School Road:

Bradley Fields age 34 of Pennington Drive, East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Possession/use of radio that sends or receives police messages

Daniel Asher age 35 of Cloud Subdivision, London charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Assault – third-degree – police officer is victim

Found off Old KY 30:

Carroll Smith, Jr. age 56 of Highway 3434, East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court on charges of fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Operating ATV on roadway

Found off Sally's Branch Road:

Dustin Morgan age 24 of Sally's Branch Road, London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Megan House age 24 of Pine Top Road, London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Found off North Laurel Road:

Kristopher Engle age 38 of Helvetia Road North, London charged with:

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Found off Hawk Creek Road:

Raymond Robinson age 33 of White Oak Road, London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

All 10 subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
