Traffic violations lead to drug arrests on Hal Rogers Parkway in London, Ky.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett arrested two individuals on Hal Rogers Parkway in London on Saturday night August 22, 2020 at approximately 11:05 PM.

The arrests occurred following a traffic stop for traffic violations on a red colored Volkswagen fastback.

During the traffic stop occupants were found in possession of Methamphetamine, a hypodermic needle, and pills.

Also one individual stated he attempted to swallow drugs prior to being pulled over.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Jammie M. Smith age 28 of Twin Branch Rd., London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
  • Inadequate silencer
  • Improper equipment

Also, this individual was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant of arrest charging

  • Failure to appear in court

Lewis D. White age 24 of Twin Branch Rd., London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Tampering with physical evidence

 These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
