More jailed in southeast Ky. as drug investigations continue in Laurel County

LONDON, KY (November 5, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's investigators arrested three individuals on Thursday morning November 5, 2020 while conducting drug investigations in Western Laurel County.

Investigators located individuals in possession of methamphetamine, needles loaded with a clear substance believed to be methamphetamine, and located one subject under the influence of drugs. The arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Merinda Robinson age 41 of Swiss Colony Ln., London arrested off Vaughn Ridge Road approximately 3 miles west of London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense.
  • Christy Tankersley age 39 of Maple Grove Rd., London arrested off Hawk Creek Road approximately 5 miles west of London charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Beverly Duff age 55 of Fount Hubbard Rd., London arrested off Sinking Creek Road approximately 5 miles west of London charged with public intoxication – controlled substances.

Assisting on the investigation and arrests for the Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective Taylor McDaniel, Detective Robert Reed, Detective James Sizemore, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Chris Edwards, Deputy Dustin Saylor, and Bailiff page Vanhook.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root stated that drug investigations and arrests will continue in Laurel County.
