Indiana man wanted for nonsupport found with large amount of Meth during drug investigation at a business off US 25 in Kentucky

LONDON, KY (November 16, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Hobie Daugherty and Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Joseph Michael Estep age 39 of Brazil, Indiana early Sunday morning November 15, 2020 at approximately 3:00 AM.

The arrest occurred at a business off US 25 approximately 1 1/2 miles north of London while deputies were conducting a drug investigation there and found this subject in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine, syringes, marijuana, and US currency.

This individual attempted to use another person’s name during the investigation.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Madison District Court warrant of arrest charging flagrant nonsupport regarding a complaint filed by the Madison County attorney.

Allegedly this individual owes arrearage of $30,967.20.

In addition, while Joseph Estep was being booked into the Laurel County Detention Center, the detention center staff in cooperation with the Laurel County Sheriff's office discovered this subject in possession of assorted pills.

Joseph Michael Estep was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; promoting contraband – first-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
