Sheriff's Investigators in Southeast Kentucky Arrest 5 on Drug Charges

LONDON, KY (November 25, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Detective James Sizemore and Lieut. Chris Edwards arrested five individuals on Tuesday afternoon November 24, 2020 following drug investigations conducted in Laurel County.

Sheriff's investigators found individuals in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Xanax, Hydrocodone, Gabapentin, Suboxone, glass pipes, Neurontin, and an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Those arrested were identified as:

Joshua Baker age 38 of Somerset Rd., London arrested off Hawk Creek Road approximately 5 miles west of London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Theft by unlawful taking – Shoplifting

Suzanne R. St. John age 36 of Somerset Rd., London arrested off Hawk Creek Road approximately 5 miles west of London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Tracy Hicks age 45 of Witt Cemetery Rd., London arrested off Hawk Creek Road approximately 5 miles west of London charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

Two individuals were arrested on Glenview Road, approximately 3 miles north of London following a traffic stop conducted on a tan colored Ford Explorer.

The driver, Zachary Cory McPherson age 31 of York Hwy., Gainsburg, TN was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

The passenger, Melisha Maynord age 29 of York Hwy., Gainsburg, TN arrested off Glenview Road approximately 3 miles north of London charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

All five individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
