"DUI 3rd Offense" Arrest in Southeast Kentucky at Injury Traffic Crash Investigation

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dustin Saylor along with Deputy Brent France arrested James Harrison Daniels age 45 of Barbourville Rd., London on Friday evening December 18, 2020 at approximately 6:38 PM.

The arrest occurred on Barbourville Road, approximately 8 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and determined that the driver of a white GMC Sonoma was under the influence.

This subject admitted using Suboxone not prescribed prior to driving.

The driver of the second vehicle was reportedly injured and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

James Daniels was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense
  • Failure to wear seatbelts
  • No registration plates
  • Obstructed wind shield
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense
  • Driving on a DUI suspended license – second offense

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
