Driver & Passenger Arrested for Meth in Southeast Kentucky after Traffic Stop by Laurel County Sheriff

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root conducted a traffic stop on a gray Nissan Altima on North Laurel Rd. approximately 1 mile north of London on Thursday afternoon March 11, 2021 at approximately 1:35 PM.

During the traffic stop it was learned that the driver was operating on a suspended license.

In addition, the driver and passenger were found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine.

In addition, the male subject was found in possession of a syringe.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

The driver, Gentry Lee Jones age 32 of Highway 1023, Lily, KY charged with:

  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license
  • Failure to wear seatbelts
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

The passenger, Rachel Doan age 39 of MJB Drive, London, KY charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Assisting Sheriff Root at the scene were Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Jake Miller and Bailiff Paige Vanhook.
