Two-Vehicle Fatal Collision on Kentucky Highway 313 in Meade County

BRANDENBURG, KY – Kentucky State Police Post 4 troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in Meade County Monday afternoon.  On Monday, August 30, 2021 at approximately 2:58 P.M. EDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from Meade County Dispatch requesting assistance in investigating a two-vehicle fatal collision near the 21,000 block of KY 313 in Meade County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Jason Anderson, age 45 of Golden, CO., was traveling north on KY 313 in a 2018 Buick Encore SUV. For unknown reasons, Anderson’s vehicle crossed the centerline and into the path of a semi-tractor trailer being driven by Rodney Bearinger, of Alberta, Canada.

Anderson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner’s Office. Bearinger was transported to Baptist Health Hardin with minor injuries.

The affected portion of KY 313 was closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision.

KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, Meade County EMS, Flaherty Volunteer Fire Department and the Meade County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by reconstructionist Trooper Tyler Lynch
