Two Arrests with Over Twenty Pounds of Illegal Narcotics Seized by Kentucky State Police Troopers

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY — The Kentucky State Police is reporting that on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at approximately 6:39 P.M KSP Troopers were actively patrolling the Bluegrass Parkway when they conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Equinox traveling eastbound near the 26 mile marker for equipment and traffic violations. Kentucky State Police arrested two men during the traffic stop after a large amount of illegal narcotics were discovered.

KSP Troopers were granted consent to search by the driver, Jose Padilla-Torres, age 31 of Sonora, Mexico.

During a search of the vehicle, 15 pounds of Methamphetamine and 5.25 pounds of Cocaine were located in various locations inside the vehicle.

The 2 arrested subjects were identified as:

The driver, Jose Padilla-Torres charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance- 1st degree (Cocaine)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance- 1st degree (Methamphetamine)

A passenger, Jose Rodriguez, age 26, also of Mexico charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance- 1st degree (Cocaine)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance- 1st degree (Methamphetamine)

These two individuals were lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

NOTE: According to jail records, both the above mentioned individuals have Phoenix, AZ  listed as their address.
