Husband Shot Multiple Times, Wife Charged With Murder In Breckinridge County, Kentucky

IRVINGTON, KY – A domestic dispute leads to one dead and another injured in Breckinridge County. On Wednesday, October 20, 2021 around 6:52 A.M. CT, Kentucky State Police (KSP) was notified by the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in investigating a shooting that had occurred at a residence near the 2000 block of Lonnie Haynes Road in Breckinridge County.

Upon KSP Post 4 troopers arrival, they discovered Dennis Devers deceased outside the front of the residence. The preliminary investigation revealed Devers and his wife, Amanda Devers, had been involved in a domestic argument which had escalated over personal property at the residence in which they both lived.

At some point during the argument, Amanda Devers shot her husband multiple times and was later pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office.

Amanda Devers had a single gunshot wound after she accidentally shot herself in the foot. She was transported to Baptist Health Hardin for treatment and was later released.

The victim’s body was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy at a later date.

Amanda Devers was charged with:

  • Murder

This individual was lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

Devers is being held the Breckinridge County Detention Center on a $250,000 CASH bond.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge Co. EMS, and the Breckinridge Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP Post 4 Detective Bryan Washer.
