CANDIDATE ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES / ASSORTMENT OF NARCOTICS LOCATED DURING TRAFFIC STOP ON U.S. ROUTE 421 IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY

MANCHESTER, KY (February 15, 2022) - The Clay County Sheriff's Office is reporting that on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at approximately 11:00 A.M. Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones along with Deputy Paul Whitehead arrested Hiram Marcum Jr. 54, of South Highway 421.

The arrest occurred on North Highway 421 when deputies conducted a traffic stop for vehicle infractions.

Upon running the subjects information it was shown that the above mentioned subject was operating the motor vehicle on a DUI Suspended License.

It was also confirmed that the subject had a Clay County Criminal Summons along with a No Bail Warrant out of Montgomery County.

During the search deputies located an assortment of narcotics. 

Hiram Marcum Jr. was charged with:

• Driving on Dui Suspended License -2nd Off.
• Possession of Controlled Substance First Degree
• Theft By Deception- Including Cold Checks (Warrant)
• Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree (Summons)

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Mr. Marcum is one of four candidates on the 2022 May Primary Ballot running for the Sheriff's Office in Clay County, Kentucky.

Assisting at the scene was Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson, Deputy Dewey Grubb, Deputy Landon Suttles and Manchester City Police Assistant Chief Jason Combs.
