LILY, KENTUCKY MAN CLOCKED AT 102 MPH ON MOTORCYCLE / FLEES POLICE, CRASHES & THEN CHARGED ON MULTIPLE ARREST WARRANTS

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brian France along with Deputy Noah Ritchie arrested Christopher Russell age 26 of Old State Road, Lily, KY on Saturday evening April 23, 2022 at approximately 6:55 PM.

The arrest occurred on Johnson Road, approximately 2 miles east of London after Deputy France clocked a green Kawasaki motorcycle traveling 102 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The vehicle failed to stop after deputies activated their emergency equipment and then failed to make a turn while fleeing and wrecked.

Deputies rendered first aid at the scene until Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County arrived to check the driver.

It was determined through investigation that this subject was wanted on outstanding warrants.

In addition, this subject was found in possession of suspected Marijuana.

Christopher Russell was charged with:

  • Speeding more than 26 mph over the limit
  • Careless driving
  • Improper passing
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle
  • No motorcycle operator's license
  • Trafficking Marijuana

In addition, this subject was charged on a Jackson District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.

Also, the subject was charged on a second Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
